  3. Dreamsong

Dreamsong was commissioned by Geir Ulseth and the Nidaros Brass Band from Trondheim, Norway. After a short introduction, the soloist introduces a rather nostalgic melody, accompanied by the lower brass parts. A fast central section is then played by the band, which leads to a climax. Eventually, the main melody played by the solo cornet and flugel horn returns, overlaid with an ornamented counter-melody from the soloist, who then closes the piece with a short cadenza.
  4. Keep in Step

    Cornet Trio
    £19.95
  5. The Warrior

    Euphonium Solo
    £24.95
  6. I See the Light from 'Tangled'

Disney’s take on the story of Rapunzel saw veteran Disney composer, Alan Menken score the film and from it, came the hit, ‘I See The Light’. A lyrical ballad, out of all the tracks produced for the film, Alan stated that this was his favourite of them all. Now arranged by Adrian Horn for solo cornet and band, this release is perfect for soloists looking to perform something popular with general audiences of all ages. With little in the way of technical difficulty, this would be a great item for younger players to enjoy. One not to be missed this Summer.

  7. Cheer Up, Charlie

This fresh new cornet solo comes from one of the greatest loved movies of all time. Featuring alongside musical hits such as Pure Imagination and The Candy Man, ‘Cheer Up, Charlie’ is probably one of the most underrated musical numbers from the film, Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory. In the film, the song is sung by Charlie’s mother, whilst young Charlie ponders the life he believes lay ahead for him. With a complex chord structure, the band parts remain interesting throughout whilst the lyrical solo line can shine in this beautiful, melodic work. A great ‘slow melody’ solo item and one that works on both concert and contest stages.

  8. Meditation

Meditation** is the central theme from The Triumph of Time, a work commissioned for The Black Dyke Band by Music Director Nicholas Childs.
The original brief was for a piece which would showcase the talents of the band's many fine soloists, among them Zoe Hancock on Flugel horn and Baritone soloist Katrina Marzella.

This extract brings both instruments together in an extended stand-alone arrangement.

** Although scored for Flugel and Baritone, a number of options can be explored at the discretion of the conductor (eg. Flugel/Cornet and Euphonium/Trombone; two Bb Cornets etc. in which case cued lines in the Solo Horn and Soprano cornet parts may be played).

  9. The Lamb - Trombone Solo

Many composers have set William Blake's beautiful and timeless poem 'The Lamb' to music. Michael Kenyon's setting has long been a Salvation Army favourite. This arrangement is by the Music Editor and Technician for the USA Eastern Territory, Dorothy Gates.

  10. With His First Breath

"With His First Breath is the haunting slow melody taken from the middle movement of my larger work Breath of Souls. I composed it for the amazing international baritone soloist Katrina Marzella. I have always been a big fan of Katrina’s playing and this slow melody is played beautifully by her. With His First Breath is dedicated to my son, Luca." Paul Lovatt-Cooper
