This is an original work depicting a prospector’s journey to the Yukon gold fields during the Klondike Gold Rush of the late 1890s. This composition is loosely arranged in 3 movements. The opening fanfare depicts the grandeur of the Coast Mountains leading to the first theme describing the anticipation and excitement of the journey ahead. In the second movement the tempo slows, the mood becomes more reflective to illustrating the emotions felt being away from family and friends during this arduous journey. The third movement signals the arrival in Dawson City and the renewed excitement of striking it rich during the great adventure known as the Klondike Gold Rush.
